«”The Tree of Life” exhibition delivers a simple message. To get closer to the sky, we must strengthen our roots. Life is an inseparable part of mortality. Over the course of 20 days, accompanied by your presence, we present an ancient thought in a contemporary form through the depiction of the tree.
The Tree of Life, the plant of life, the cosmic tree, penetrates the two realms of the sky and the earth. Its branches reach the heights of the sky, connected to its grand trunk and rooted deep into the earth. This connection unites both worlds. Its height, like the length of human life, cannot be calculated. Water flows in its sap, its roots intertwined with the soil, its leaves dancing with the wind, and fire ignites from its wood. These are the four elements, symbolizing cosmic life, its continuity, growth, and the processes of birth and rebirth. They signify the essence of eternal life, inseparable from mortality.»
The group exhibition of painting, print, sculpture, and photography, “The Tree of Life,” showcases the works of over 100 visual artists. Curated by Niousha Niyuzhpour and Shadi Davari, the exhibition opened on Friday, February 19th, at Gallery Hameh.
